The cartridge’s porous design allows the spirit to pass through and the un-wanted flavours to be absorbed by the activated carbon. Unlike ordinary water purification carbons, the EZ Filter's Carbon Cartridge has a unique pore structure purification which allows the spirit to pass through while the unwanted flavours are absorbed by the activated carbon. The pore structure of carbons required for water purification, vary from the requirement for distilled spirit purification. Still Spirits purpose built cartridges contain carbons designed to clean and purify home distilled spirit (and will also purify water if required).
This is our recommendation for Carbon Filter Systems. It is easy to use, looks good and works well. One of these systems is included in the Turbo 500 Complete Distilling Deal or you can buy it to go with any brand of still. You will use one Carbon Cartridge per batch of spirit and replace it for the next batch.
